Sea Sanctuary is a unique mental health charity and one of the world’s leading exponents of blue health, the concept that ‘blue spaces’, such as the sea, are beneficial for people’s mental and emotional wellbeing.
We use a combination of sail training, marine activities and evidence-based therapies to help children and adults who are struggling with issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, and a whole range of varied mental and emotional health problems. We provide invaluable support to vulnerable people and those who want to make themselves more robust and resilient for dealing with life’s ups and downs.
Sea Sanctuary is a leading exponent of blue health, the concept that exposure to ‘blue spaces’, such as the sea, has a beneficial effect on mental health. Its programmes rely on the environment and use techniques thought to be the first of their kind in the world.
